Valley Forge Casino was the first casino to voluntarily close its doors in March when the coronavirus hit Pennsylvania. It reopened in late June and is operating at reduced capacity with a high level of safety and sanitation measures in place, in accordance with state and local government regulations in addition to the property-wide Boyd Clean initiative.

Updated hours at Valley Forge Casino
Temporary hours of operation:
- Monday-Thursday: 10-3 a.m.
During the time it is closed, Valley Forge Casino conducts deep cleaning throughout the property and high-touchpoint areas.
- Friday at 10 a.m. through Monday at 3 a.m. it operates 24 hours. (Deep cleaning is done throughout the day.)
FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge
FanDuel’s retail sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino is open daily from 10 a.m.-midnight.
The return of major sports resulted in back-to-back record-breaking months for sports betting in Pennsylvania. FanDuel sportsbook, through its partnership with Valley Forge Casino, leads all online operators in the state. FanDuel accounted for about 41% of all online wagers in September, with a handle of $171 million.
In addition to being associated with a big name in DFS and sports betting like FanDuel, Zerfing explained some of the key benefits of the partnership:
“Our relationship with FanDuel has brought us a lot of value, and there are many benefits to our partnership. The retail sportsbook adds another amenity, alongside gaming, food and beverage, venue spaces and hotel accommodations, that patrons at Valley Forge can enjoy. The retail sportsbook helps drive traffic to our location, bringing in a new demographic of people. The demographic is younger and more skewed toward a male audience.”
Weekend of winners
Many might want to forget 2020, but a pair of players will remember an October weekend at Valley Forge Casino for a long time.
Brian N., a King of Prussia resident, won $714,000 at the Super 4 Progressive table on Oct. 9. Two days later, an unnamed player won $192,000.
Zerfing commented on the winners:
“It was an exciting weekend, and we’re thrilled that not one, but two, of our valued guests had such notable wins. As people continue to feel more comfortable in safely returning to the casino, we hope to see this trend of large jackpot winnings continue to occur often at Valley Forge.”
The previous jackpot from the same progressive also had a win of $785,000, in July 2020.
The Super 4 Progressive side bet wager wins when the dealer has a blackjack and the combination of the dealer’s blackjack AND the player’s two cards qualifies for the 100% progressive bonus. Additionally, any player who places a wager on the Super 4 receives an “Envy Bonus” payout when another player at the table is the winner of the 100% bonus.

Smoking, food and drink at VF Casino
Food and beverages are not currently allowed on the gaming floor. Also, smoking is not permitted on the gaming floor, but designated outdoor smoking areas are set up.
PA Governor Tom Wolf and Sec. of Health Dr. Rachel Levinesigned new orders for increased coronavirus mitigation efforts on July 16. For casinos, it means a temporary pause on drink service and sitting at the bar, and lower capacity limits at restaurants.

Health and safety at Valley Forge
All casinos in Pennsylvania are required to follow the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s “COVID-19 Casino Reopening Protocols.”
When visiting any PA casino, here are some of the new safety guidelines:
- Casinos can reopen at 50% capacity.
- Employees and guests must wear masks.
- There are markings on the floor to promote social distancing.
- Enhanced cleaning is done throughout the facility.
Valley Forge implemented “Boyd Clean,” the company’s nationwide health and safety protocols. It includes measures such as enforcing social distancing and aggressive sanitation schedules, especially for high-touch surfaces.
